Design Concept: The Paperplane Reimagined
A piece of paper, folded into the horizon of your imagination.
Three years after the debut of the PAPER series, we return to the 65% form factor. This time, we revisited the paperplane's visual language—asking ourselves: how do we preserve the signature lightness and floating sensation in a more compact body.
Our answer: not to replicate, but to reconstruct.
Moving away from the large backplate and curved waistline of its predecessor, we deconstructed the imagery of a paperplane. We reimagined it into every detail: the folded lines on the sides, the triangular facets on the bottom, and the ambient lighting hidden within the shadows. The result is a 65% that still carries the soul of PAPER.
Extended Side Lines
Precise cuts along the bottom housing echo the signature floating aesthetic of the PAPER series.
Triangular Ambient Light Inserts
Embedded within the bottom case's triangular facets, these lights cast a soft glow onto your desk, creating harmony between the keyboard and the surface.
V-Shaped Tail Lights
Narrow V-shaped light strips race along the angled bottom edges, like afterburners, injecting a sense of motion.
Front Details · Multiple Elements, One Cohesive Design
Across the front face of the PAPER 65, above the main key cluster, several individual components come together:
· Strip Indicator Light
Housed in a long, oval, recessed frame, it delivers a sleek, eye-catching glow when lit.
· Mirror-Polished Stainless Steel Inlay with Lighting
Acrylic combined with mirror-polished stainless steel for a reflective, high-end texture.
· Three Small Indicator Lights
Subtly placed to enrich the visual layers.
· 1U LCD Screen
128×128 resolution, capable of displaying keypress values, GIFs, and connection status.
· Anodized Aluminum Trim Bar
Dark anodized finish that visually narrows the top bezel for a more streamlined look.
Paperplane Badge · Icon and Indicator in One
On the front bevel, the paperplane badge continues the design language of the PAPER 80:
·Material: Light-diffusing acrylic + resin fill
·Function: RGB lighting effects, integrated with Caps Lock indicator
·Thoughtful detail: A small window on the top case lets you check Caps Lock status without flipping the board.
The 1U Screen · More Than Meets the Eye
Keypress feedback with key value display
GIF / static image support
Real-time connection status
Structure · Dual-Mount Compatibility
The PAPER 65 is designed to support both Bottom Mount and Gasket Mount configurations — giving you the freedom to choose your preferred typing feel.
At the heart of this flexibility is our newly developed bushing-style Bottom Mount system. Featuring precision-engineered acrylic bushings, it works like the hard rubber chassis reinforcements in performance cars: preserving structural rigidity while effectively isolating micro-vibrations from the plate during typing.
The result? Cleaner, purer acoustics — a noticeable step up from traditional top-mount designs.
